One killed in clashes between Trump supporters, protesters in Portland
At least one person was shot and dead in clashes between protesters from rival groups on Saturday night in Portland, US, after a convoy of supporters of President Donald Trump entered the city, Reuters reported
“A political rally took place in downtown Portland,” police said on Twitter. There have been some instances of violence between demonstrators and counter-demonstrators, according to the police, adding: “Police intervened and made arrests in some cases.”
A local branch of NBC quoted police as saying that one person was killed in the shooting. No details were available on the identity of the victim.
Media reported that skirmishes broke out on the streets of Portland on Saturday after a group of cars entered the city as part of a pro-Trump convoy, angering anti-president protesters who tried to block them.
