Israeli Pipeline Company Signs Deal to Bring UAE Oil to Europe

Israeli pipeline company EAPC said on Tuesday it signed a preliminary deal to help transport oil from the United Arab Emirates to Europe via a pipeline that connects the Red Sea city of Eilat and the Mediterranean port of Ashkelon.

Among the group of personalities from the Arab country were the Emirati ministers of finance and economy, Obaid Humaid al-Tayer and Abdullah bin Touq al-Marri, accompanied by the US secretary of state for the treasury, Steve Mnuchin, and the White House adviser and special envoy for international negotiations, Avi Berkowitz.

According to Globus, the EAPC pipeline will be linked to pipelines in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, currently established to transport crude from the east of the Kingdom and other Gulf countries to the Red Sea.

It should be noted that the Yemeni Air Force targeted, on May 14, 2019, the petroleum pumping stations No. (7) and (8) in the main oil pipeline linking Ras Tanura in the eastern region and the port of Yanbu in the west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a qualitative operation called “the 9th of Ramadan Operation.”
