PM discusses with FM political, humanitarian developments
Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor discussed on Sunday with Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf the humanitarian repercussions and the blockade imposed on the Yemeni people.
In the meeting, the premier directed minister Sharaf to exert more efforts to expose the practices of the states of aggression and their attempts to disclaim responsibilities for what had happened and is happening against the Yemeni people because of their unjust war against the country.
Bin Habtoor also discussed with the minister the ministry’s follow-up with the United Nations and the European Union regarding the situation of international organizations operating in Yemen.
He said the organizations face a funding shortfall due to the failure of a number of donor countries to meet their humanitarian and relief commitments to cope with the humanitarian disaster caused by the two countries of aggression, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, since March 2015.
Bin Habtoor and Sharaf discussed aspects related to the displacement of more than three and a half million citizens due to airstrikes and military operations of the countries of aggression and their mercenaries, in addition to suspending dues of the majority of the state’s public employees.
On his part, the foreign minister said that aggression countries are trying to blackmail the situation in Yemen and impose their agendas in arranging a political settlement and peace using the method of freezing funds that have pledged to face the burdens of human suffering.
Sharaf said the two countries are practicing a policy of starvation and the seizure of oil derivatives vessels from time to time to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The minister noted the political leadership and the National Rescue Government remain committed to the option of a political settlement and a just peace that will bring security and stability to Yemen and its people.
