The capital, Sana’a, marks Ashura with a massive march
This Thursday afternoon, the people of the capital, Sana’a, maked the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the prophet, Mohammed ,peace be upon them, with a major march on Airport Street.Imam Hussein fell martryed when he fought the tyrants.
The march began with verses from the Holy Quran followed by Sheikh Al-Hafiz Mohammad Hassan Al-Kabari, followed by a poem by the poet Saqr Al-Lahji.
The Grand Mufti of Yemen, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, delivered a speech during the march, in which he considered that “the most appropriate expression of our loyalty to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is to direct our energies and our determination to expel the colonists from the Arabian Peninsula.”
The participants chanted slogans of freedom against the American policy in the region, and carried banners for the occasion and banners calling for a boycott of American and Israeli goods.
