Syria condemns Israeli occupation attacks, calls on Security Council to take firm action
Syrian Arab Republic has condemned the repeated Israeli attacks and called on the Security Council and the United Nations to assume their responsibility within the framework of the Charter of the International Organization.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent letters to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, demanding to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their illegitimate practices against the Syrian citizens and condemn these blatant attacks and take firm and immediate measures to prevent recurrence.
“Israel’s cowardly aggression against Syrian territory came to complete a series of violations and crimes against Syria and its people, continuing to provide all forms of support to the fragmentation of its terrorists and its tools, and obstructing the political solution to the crisis in Syria,” the letter read.
The ministry stressed that repeated Israeli attacks would not deter the Syrian Government from fulfilling its constitutional duty to continue to combat terrorist organizations.
