Brigadier General Saree Announces Downing a Saudi Air Force Fighter Plane
This morning, the air defenses of the army and the popular committees managed to shoot down a Saudi Air Force reconnaissance plane between the governorates of Saada and Amran.
The spokesman for the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said in a brief statement today, that the air defenses shot down a Chinese-made CH4 fighter plane, while it was carrying out hostile actions over Al-Amsheya area between the governorates of Saada and Amran.
He pointed out that the plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile, which has not yet been announced.
The CH-4 unmanned aerial vehicle is the most powerful in terms of its carrying capacity and flight efficiency and is able to perform tasks including battlefield monitoring and information gathering, conducting military operations in restricted airspace, and directing precision strikes against fixed or moving targets at low speed on the ground.
The wingspan of the CH-4 plane reaches 18 meters, its maximum take-off weight is 1350 kilograms, its maximum flight range is five thousand kilometers, and it can cruise at an altitude of between five thousand and seven thousand meters.
The Chinese-made CH-4 aircraft is able to launch attacks on ground targets using missiles from an altitude of more than five thousand kilometers.
