Al-Razzami discusses with UN security team ways to support YEMAC

Head of the National Military Committee Major General Yahya Al-Razzami met Monday with the Security Reform Sector Team in the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen under the leadership of Military Adviser General Antoni.

The meeting, held in the Jordanian capital Amman, discussed the impacts of the cluster bombs and mines planted by the aggression’s mercenaries in a number of provinces.

General al-Razzami demanded the United Nations envoy through his military adviser, to pressure on the mercenaries and aggression states ti release the The Yemen Executive Mine Action Center (YEMAC)’s equipment that have been held for a long time in Djibouti to be capable of dealing with the mines.

He recalled the pledges of the former United Nations Special Envoy to Sweden’s agreement to release the materials and provide the necessary support to the Center.

General al-Razzami explained that the YEMAC was unable to carry out its tasks of clearing mines and lifting cluster bombs and explosives left by the aggression without such logistics materials.

The Yemeni people suffered from those mines and explosives, which almost kill or injure citizens every day, including children and women.

He demanded the United Nations to assume its humanitarian and moral responsibilities to the Yemeni people in this regard.

For his part, the United Nations Envoy’s Office’s security sector official confirmed that he would make every effort to release the equipment of the Executive Mine Action Center.
