President Al-Mashat: UN must assume its responsibility to stop the aggression, lift the siege

President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat met with United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen William David Gressly.

During the meeting, Al-Mashat and Gressly reviewed the humanitarian situation in Yemen and the bitter humanitarian crisis experienced by the Yemeni people as a result of the American-Saudi aggression.

The cooperation with the United Nations organizations in the humanitarian field was also discussed during the meeting.

President Al-Mashat stressed the importance of the United Nations to make every effort to lift injustice against the Yemeni people and assume its responsibility to stop the aggression, lift the blockade and open Sana’a airport and Hodeida port.

He said that the United Nations should be responsible for enabling the Yemeni people to obtain their oil and gas resources that are plundered by the US-led aggression coalition, stressing that the only way to achieve peace is to pay the salaries of all employees, which is a basic human right.

He directed the Government to overcome any difficulties that may hinder the United Nations organizations from performing their humanitarian activities in the country.
