Ministry of Fisheries condemns kidnapping of 20 Yemeni fishermen by aggression
The Ministry of Fisheries in Sana’a government on Friday condemned the kidnapping of 20 Yemeni fishermen by the US-Saudi aggression coalition forces and their mercenaries while they were fishing in Yemeni territorial waters.
In a statement, the ministry denounced the criminal practices of the coalition forces against Yemeni fishermen, the latest of which was the kidnapping of 20 Yemeni fishermen with six boats off the coast of Buhais area in Midi district and taking them to an unknown destination.
The statement warned against the continuation of piracy in Yemeni waters, and “the persistence of the aggression coalition forces and their mercenaries in kidnapping unarmed fishermen and tightening the screws on them during the fishing operation at sea since the beginning of the aggression on Yemen.”
The Ministry of Fisheries held the United Nations, the international community and all human rights organizations fully responsible for the consequences of their continued silence and inaction towards the repeated abuses of fishermen by the coalition and mercenaries.
