In the past few hours, the capital Sana’a witnessed the biggest wedding festival for over 10,000 grooms and brides.
Earlier, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council, was briefed on the final preparations and arrangements for the celebration, which is considered the third grand wedding in the capital, Sana’a. The sponsor of the wedding is the Zakat Authority, and includes 10,044 grooms and brides.
President Al-Mashat listened to the head of the General Authority for Zakat, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nishtan, and the authority’s representative, Ali Al-Saqqaf. They gave a detailed explanation of the technical equipment and efforts made by the Zakat Authority teams that are in charge of completing the preparations and arrangements to receive the grooms.
President Al-Mashat praised the level of equipment, organizational and technical arrangements, praising the large projects carried out by the Zakat Authority. Although they are still a fresh committee, the president noted that this what gives cause for optimism and pride for making such projects that touch the social reality.
The president noted that this is the largest ever collective wedding that the Zakat Authority made, which comes in the context of major social treatments, including confronting the “soft war”.
“I am proud of the Zakat Authority, which is one of the achievements of the September 21 revolution, and I tell them to move forward and we are with them to overcome all the difficulties they face in order to advance the work of the Authority,” President Al-Mashat praised.
He pointed out that the Zakat Authority should receive great attention and the necessary coverage in the media in return for its great achievements that deserve praise and deserve to be seen by the Yemeni people.
In turn, the Chairman of the Zakat Authority confirmed that the achievements and projects of the Zakat Authority came through the great support and attention of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council and its vigorous follow-up for the sake of the poor.
He pointed out that the collective wedding celebration includes 10 thousand and 44 brides and grooms, noting that it is considered the largest of its kind in the region, and the joy of those couples rejoices the entire Yemeni people
Abu Nishtan pointed out that the collective wedding is a message to the enemies that despite the pain and tough condition they tried to inflict on the Yemeni people, today Yemen is winning with a brave leadership that stands by the poor and needy.
The deputy of the committee, Al-Saqaf, pointed out that the mass wedding is one of the fruits of the September 21 revolution, which touches the needs of the youth and the concerns of the poor, as some of them have reached the age of forty and fifty and have not been able to complete half of their religion (get married).
He stressed that absorbing this large number of grooms from different governorates of the Republic is due to the achievements of the Zakat Authority in reviving an obligation and ritual of Islam.. Pointing out that the project also comes within the efforts made by the government in the face of the “soft war” waged by the enemy, which is trying to corrupt the youth and target social fabric.
