The Foreign Minister stresses the need to lift the blockade to address the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen

Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf met today, Tuesday, with the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, and her accompanying delegation

In the meeting, the Minister stressed the importance of the visit by the Director of UNICEF to see the reality of the situation and the humanitarian catastrophe that the Yemeni people are suffering from, especially children, many of whom lost their lives either as a result of the aggression’s air raids or not receiving the necessary treatment or for reasons of malnutrition

He pointed out that this visit will contribute to reveal the scale of the disaster experienced by the children of Yemen, stressing that the Salvation Government is making every effort to provide the necessary health and educational components for children, but its capabilities and resources are still limited, and there is reliance on UNICEF to intensify its programs to contribute to alleviating the repercussions of the humanitarian disaster that affected children in Yemen.
