Shura Council affirms support for efforts to achieve honorable just peace in Yemen
The Shura Council affirmed its categorical rejection of all efforts by the aggression coalition forces to keep the situation in Yemen in a state of no peace and no war, and the continuous evasion of addressing the economic situation and the humanitarian file of the Yemeni people.
In a statement, the Council affirmed support for the position of the Supreme Political Council with regard to achieving an honorable and fair peace in Yemen, giving priority to resolving the humanitarian file, paying the salaries of state employees, lifting restrictions on Sana’a airport and Hodeida port, and ending the siege and aggression.
The Council pointed out the importance of the aggression coalition countries being aware of the sensitivity of the humanitarian situation that the Yemeni people have reached, which must be addressed urgently, and not to make flimsy excuses to increase and continue their suffering.
It deplored the coalition’s blatant intention to perpetuate the Yemeni bloodshed, tighten the unjust blockade, prevent the entry of oil derivative ships and medicine, and the consequent suspension of public services and the lack of medicines for chronic diseases, especially medicines for kidney failure.
The Council expressed its hope that the discussions of the Omani delegation, which are currently taking place in the capital, Sana’a, would be at the level of the aspirations of the Yemeni people and contribute to developing solutions that the Supreme Political Council has repeatedly emphasized in preparation for finding a suitable ground for ending the aggression and siege.
