Expatriate Affairs condemns arresting and imprisonment Yemeni citizen

The Expatriate Affairs Ministry condemned the Saudi authorities’ prosecution of the Yemeni pilgrim, Marwa Abed Rabbo Al-Sabri, because of her refusal to insult a Saudi employee working as a policewoman in Mecca Al-Mukarramah.

In a statement, the Expatriate Affairs Ministry denounced the use of the Saudi security system, the reaction of the Yemeni citizen, Al-Sabri, and accused her of possessing bombs to justify the issuance of a court ruling that sentenced her to one year in prison.

The statement indicated that the Saudi security employee verbally assaulted and abused the Yemeni people, insulted and arrested Marwa Al-Sabri, 29, from Al-Bayda province, while entering the gate of the Grand Mosque in Mecca to perform Umrah, by saying: “Yemenis, you are not good.” Al-Sabri replied to her, saying: You Saudis have destroyed our country, “and this is a fact known to the whole world.”

The Ministry called on human rights and humanitarian organizations, the United Nations and international organizations to condemn and denounce the arbitrary practices of the Saudi authorities against Yemenis on their lands, provide them with legal protection, and oblige the Saudi regime to respect laws in accordance with the provisions of international agreements.

The violations of the Saudi regime and the continuous arbitrary measures against the Yemenis come in light of the silence of the mercenaries government o and agents loyal to Saudi Arabia.
