The Undersecretary of the General Authority for Aviation, Raed Jabal, confirmed today, Sunday, that more than one company and air operator applied to operate flights from Sana’a Airport, but they were rejected by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition.

Raed Jabal explained to Al Masirah that Sana’a International Airport is still under siege by the aggression coalition. The countries of aggression have not yet announced the cancellation of the ban imposed on Sana’a Airport since 2015 because the countries of aggression have officially announced the ban on the airport and the cancellation of the decision must be an official announcement.

For his part, the head of the Supreme Medical Committee, Mr. Mutahar Al-Darwish, explained that the aggression’s tampering with the number of flights to the only destination exacerbated the problem of patients and travelers stranded abroad. He explained that the enemy deliberately kept the patients suffering through limited flights and travel requirements through Sana’a airport and prevented the entry of foreign crews to provide medical assistance.

The Minister of Transport, Major General Abd al-Wahhab al-Durra, had confirmed that there are large numbers of Yemeni patients stuck abroad due to the limited flights to Sana’a airport. He explained that the role of the United Nations in Sana’a airport file and opening travel destinations for patients to Cairo and India was negative and obstructive.
