The director of Palestinian police operations in Gaza, who was responsible for securing aid trucks, Faiq al-Mabhouh, was martyred on Monday, March 18, in an assassination carried out by the Israeli enemy “army” inside Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, in addition to the arrest of a group of press and media crews inside the hospital and taking them to unknown destination.

This comes after the Israeli enemy forces stormed Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City, where they imposed a tight siege on it, targeting everyone who moved there, which led to the number of martyrs and injuries.

In this context, Al-Qassam Brigades, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Brigades announced that they were waging fierce clashes against the enemy forces penetrating near Al-Shifa Complex, causing deaths and injuries among their ranks. The factions also confirmed that they had targeted the enemy’s “army” vehicles.

For its part, the government media office in Gaza explained, in a statement, that “the occupation army committed a new crime, when it assassinated Brigadier General Fayeq Al-Mabhouh, who is in charge of the coordination process with the tribes and UNRWA to bring and secure humanitarian aid to northern Gaza, where Brigadier General Al-Mabhouh carries out purely humanitarian civilian work.” He should have been protected and not harmed under international law.
