The National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs announced the implementation of a unilateral humanitarian initiative to release 112 prisoners of the other party under the directives of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.

In a press conference held in Sanaa today, attended by a member of the Supreme Political Council, Sultan Al-Sama’i, the Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government, Ali Al-Dailami, the head of the Military Committee, Major General Yahya Al-Razami, the governors of Lahj Ahmed Juraib, Ibb Abdul-Wahed Salah, and Dhamar Muhammad Al-Bukhaiti, and the acting governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawa, the head of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada, said that the released prisoners of the other party are those who were captured on the battle fronts and are in humanitarian cases, including the sick, the wounded, and the elderly.

Al-Murtada pointed out in the conference, which was attended by the First Undersecretary of the Capital Secretariat, Khaled Al-Madani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Guidance, Saleh Al-Khawlani, and the families of the prisoners, that the initiative of Sayyed. in releasing the prisoners came from humanitarian motives to emphasize humane dealing with this file, especially since it is not the first initiative, as it was preceded in In previous periods dozens of initiatives, in which 920 prisoners were pardoned and released unilaterally.

He stated that this initiative also came to emphasize Sana’a’s seriousness in dealing positively with all the efforts made by the United Nations to resolve the humanitarian issue of the prisoners and end the suffering of them and their families on both sides.

 

The Chairman of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee expressed the hope that this initiative would strengthen confidence, remove differences, and pave the way for entering into serious, honest, and transparent negotiations that would lead to the implementation of all previous agreements that were signed under the auspices of the United Nations.
