Detainee Raed Muhammad Sharif Al-Saadi (58 years old) from the town of Al-Silah Al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, entered his 36th year in the prisons of the Israeli occupation today, Wednesday.
The director of the Prisoners Club in Jenin, Montaser Samour, stated that the detainee Al-Saadi, who was arrested on August 28, 1989, is considered the Dean of the Prisoners of Jenin Governorate and the oldest prisoner in the occupation prisons from the governorate, noting that Al-Saadi is serving two life sentences, in addition to 20 years on charges of resisting the occupation.
Samour added that the detainee Al-Saadi was arrested for the first time in 1984 for a period of 6 months for raising the Palestinian flag on the electricity poles in the town of Silat Al-Harithiya. He was wanted for several years, and during that period the occupation arrested his mother for a period of four months and some of his brothers to pressure him to surrender himself, until the special units “the undercover” arrested him during a disguised visit to his home to check on his family in 1989.
