Al-Mashat issues urgent directives to relief those affected by floods in Mahweet

The President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, directed on Wednesday the government to prioritize rescue and relief efforts in the Malhan district of Mahweet province and other provinces affected by the floods.

President Al-Mashat confirmed in a statement that the state would do its best efforts to provide assistance, praising the efforts made by the Supreme Emergency Response Committee and the field teams of the local authorities.

He urged the government and all concerned parties to give priority to the safety of citizens and to take all necessary measures to prevent further damage, assess the full damage, and develop a comprehensive plan to rebuild and recover from this disaster.

President Al-Mashat expressed his condolences to the families of the victims as a result of the heavy rains the country is exposed to, which caused sudden floods and rockslides in Mahweet, Hodeida, and Hajjah provinces.
