The American newspaper “Wall Street Journal” indicated, today, Monday, the increasing military setbacks facing “Israel”.
The American newspaper said that “Israel” finds its forces exhausted while fighting what amounts to a war on 3 fronts: in the Gaza Strip, against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, and recently against the resistance in the West Bank.
The newspaper pointed out that the United States of America may still be hesitant to put hard pressure on Netanyahu to make concessions to Hamas for fear that this will harm Harris’s presidential campaign if the White House is seen as forcing Netanyahu to reach an agreement according to Aaron David Miller, a senior member of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Miller added that “the US administration is in a critical situation. Seventy days before the elections, which may be the most important in modern American history, it is difficult for me to imagine that the administration will increase the pressure or use concrete tools to stop the war.”
A recent poll by the Israeli Democracy Institute, a Jerusalem-based think tank, showed that 82% of Israelis support reaching an agreement to return Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
The poll also showed that a majority of Israelis have supported reaching an agreement for months, but they remain divided on the terms
