11,852 Palestinian students martyred and 18,959 injured since the beginning of the Zionist aggression

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education said today, Tuesday, that 11,852 students were martyred and 18,959 were injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023 on the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry of Education explained in a statement that the number of students martyred in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression reached more than 11,738, and 18,365 were injured, while 114 students were martyred in the West Bank and 594 others were injured, in addition to 450 arrested.

It indicated that 560 teachers and administrators were martyred and 3,729 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 148 were arrested in the West Bank.

It pointed out that 362 government schools, universities and their buildings, and 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 124 of them being severely damaged and 62 being completely destroyed. In addition, 84 schools and 7 universities in the West Bank were stormed and vandalized, and 133 government schools were used as shelters in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that 718,000 students in the Gaza Strip are still deprived of attending their schools and universities since the beginning of the aggression, while most students suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health conditions.

It pointed out that the enemy’s repeated incursions into Jenin and Tulkarm governorates have caused students to be terrified in their schools.
