Syrian army denies withdrawal from Homs

The Syrian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the news circulated by the terrorists’ pages on social media about the army’s withdrawal from Homs is not true.

“We confirm that the Syrian Arab Army is present in Homs and its countryside and is deployed on fixed and solid defensive lines,” The Syrian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Friday.

“The army has been reinforced with additional large forces equipped with various types of equipment and weapons. Our forces are ready to repel any terrorist attack,” according to the statement.

In this regard, field sources reported that the Syrian army has redeployed its forces on the fronts in the northern countryside of Homs, noting that no confrontations with the militants have occurred yet in this area.

The sources confirmed that the confrontation fronts are currently limited to the northern countryside of Homs, the western countryside of Hama, and the northeastern countryside of Latakia.

They also mentioned that the Syrian army’s anti-aircraft units are intercepting drones in the skies of Homs city.

They added, “The Homs front will become the first line of defense, and there are talks about an agreement with the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to prevent the militants from advancing from Turkey.”

Field sources also reported relative calm on the fronts since the Syrian army announced the redeployment of its forces in the city of Hama.
