The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Dr. Hossam Abu Safia, today, Sunday, that the “army” of the Zionist enemy has continued to shoot since the morning in the area surrounding the hospital, adding that artillery shells are targeting buildings near the hospital, and a little while ago, bombs were dropped in its squares.

Abu Safia said in a press statement that these bombs were shot down from drones and warplanes, and anyone who takes outside the hospital is at risk and is targeted.

He said: “The generators were targeted, and one of them was fire and was completely destroyed. Now, the Zionist enemy is trying to target the fuel tank, which is full of fuel and pose a great danger to ignition. If the fire is caught in this tank, this may lead to a disaster for workers and everyone who is inside the hospital.

Dr. Abu Safia: “The occupation forces did not hesitate to directly shell at the hospital; Rather, it focused its fire on the surrounding area, which resulted in intense bombing of tanks and aircraft, and this bombing continues until this moment.

He pointed out that the field situation is still very dangerous. We have made appeals to the international community, but unfortunately, no one interfered to stop the Zionist enemy from attacking our health system in this brutal and random way, continuing: “Our medical staff and the hospital itself have been targeted with all its specialties as if we were a military facility.”

He continued: “The world knows that Kamal Adwan Hospital provides basic services for children, women and wounded as there are no other facilities available to treat these patients in northern Gaza.”

The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital called for the end of these attacks and the intervention of the international community. It is not possible to press us to evacuate the hospital to another site, adding: “The hospital is located in the center of a residential area, and its evacuation will endanger the lives of the injured.”

He expressed his hope that there will be a fair response from international institutions that are able to compel the occupied forces to stop targeting the hospital, calling for the hospital to be neutralized and allowed to work without threatening the evacuation.
