The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz revealed, today, Thursday, new plans to build settlement outposts in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The Hebrew newspaper explained that the settlement plans include building 9,000 housing units in “Atarot” settlement near the separation wall and near the Palestinian village of Kafr Aqab.

It added that the enemy’s plans propose establishing a settlement neighborhood that includes 1,100 settlement units near the Palestinian village of Sharafat, south of Jerusalem.

The Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz” indicated that the so-called “Central Planning and Building Committee” is discussing plans that include establishing a religious school for the Haredim in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem.

At the beginning of this year, the committee affiliated with the enemy municipality in Jerusalem announced the confiscation of lands under the pretext of developing the main street for the project, which includes the demolition of no less than 18 commercial buildings, which will lead to the loss of dozens of Jerusalemites of their livelihood.

The settlement project will also consume about 2,000 dunams of Palestinian land in al-Joz Valley neighborhood, and the enemy is planning to seize 29 dunams of the neighborhood’s land, with the aim of building a 1.5-kilometer-long street.

During the year 2024, the enemy authorities implemented settlement projects, approved 19 new settlement projects, began implementing 12 projects that were previously approved, and completed work on 4 projects, according to a previous statement by the Jerusalem Governorate.
