Diplomat in Trump administration: Classifying Ansar Allah will not affect their positions

A senior US official said that classifying Ansar Allah as a “foreign terror organization” will not make a difference to the Yemenis. The Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs in the first Trump administration, “David Schenker”, explained that Washington’s classification of Ansar Allah on the “terrorism” lists will not deter them from their positions.

Schenker pointed out in press statements that the decision of the new US President Donald Trump to reclassify Ansar Allah is not expected to affect their behavior, actions or positions.

Meanwhile, the British organization “Oxfam” expressed its concern about the new US decision, the Director of Peace and Security Affairs at the American branch of the organization, Scott Paul, explained in a statement that the decision “will increase the suffering of Yemeni civilians and cause the disruption of vital imports of fuel, medicine and food.” He said that “the Trump administration will bear responsibility for the hunger and disease that will result from the decision.”

It is worth noting that the political bureau of Ansar Allah issued a statement in which it confirmed that the United States of America bears all the consequences that will result from its decision.
