The testimonies of the Palestinian prisoners released in the fourth batch of the “Free Flood” deal revealed horrific violations they were subjected to inside the prisons of the Zionist enemy, including violent physical torture, deliberate starvation, and systematic medical neglect.

Many prisoners confirmed that they were severely beaten until the moment of release, which led to some of them suffering from broken ribs and deep wounds, while others were transferred directly to hospitals due to the deterioration of their health conditions.

The Prisoners’ Media Office in Palestine reported testimonies from released prisoners about the serious violations against them, saying that they were “beaten days before their release and until the last hour of their release.”

They added, “Prisoners released to Gaza are subjected to violations during their delivery to the Red Cross, as prisoners are handcuffed and forced to pass through

a line of police dogs, and members of the occupation army beat and insult them.

In addition, a bracelet is placed on the hand of each prisoner that includes a death threat to him and the Palestinian people.”

The Prisoners’ Media Office said: “These brutal practices, which flagrantly contradict the Geneva Conventions and international laws for the protection of prisoners, constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity that require accountability.

International law prohibits torture and abuse of prisoners, but the occupation continues to violate these laws without any deterrent, amid suspicious international silence.

International human rights organizations, including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, have documented the escalation of “Israeli” crimes against prisoners since October 7, 2023, which requires an urgent international investigation to stop these violations and hold their perpetrators accountable.”

He added, “We call on the United Nations, the International Red Cross, and all human rights organizations to take immediate and serious action to uncover the truth about what is happening inside the occupation’s prisons, and to force the occupation to abide by international laws.

We also urge Arab and international media outlets to intensify coverage of these crimes and highlight the suffering of Palestinian prisoners, to prevent the occupation from continuing its policy of impunity.”

He continued: “The issue of Palestinian prisoners is not just a humanitarian issue, but rather a battle for freedom and dignity for an entire people, and the international community must bear its responsibilities towards these crimes, as the occupation will not stop its oppressive practices except through real international pressure and deterrent punitive measures.”
