Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed today, Sunday, the right of the Lebanese people, whom he described as great, to “be proud of all its brave sons,” especially the two martyred Secretary-Generals of Hezbollah, the historical leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din.
Pezeshkian described the two martyrs, in a post on “X” platform on the occasion of their funeral, as the two great leaders, and said: “Heroes who defended the honor of the nation and remained faithful to the covenant and promise until martyrdom for the sake of God.”
Tehran confirmed its participation at a “high level” in the funeral ceremonies of the two martyrs today, Sunday, February 23, 2025, as the Speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araqchi, attended.
Araqchi confirmed upon his arrival in Beirut that he came to Lebanon on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the grand funeral of the two great masters, and said that “the funeral of the two masters will prove that the resistance is alive and will achieve divine victory.”
In turn, Qalibaf said, “Today I came to Beirut at the head of a delegation to participate in the funeral and we are holding meetings with senior Lebanese officials,” adding, “I remember that I came to Beirut 4 months ago amid the crimes of the Zionist entity and today I saw that the people have great determination.”
