Qassem: Our approval of the proposal is part of our positive engagement with the mediators’ efforts

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said on Friday that his movement’s approval of the mediators’ proposal is part of its positive engagement with the mediators’ efforts.

Qassem added in a press statement to Al-Arabiya TV: “We presented the occupation’s violations to the mediators during the last round of negotiations.”

He continued: “The mediators must pressure the occupation to complete the ceasefire agreement, and the US administration is responsible for exerting pressure on the occupation to compel it to abide by the agreement.”

Hamas said on Friday, March 14, 2025, that its negotiating delegation received a proposal from the mediators yesterday to resume negotiations.

The movement responded to it responsibly and positively, and submitted its response early this morning, including its agreement to release Israeli soldier Idan Alexander, who holds US citizenship, in addition to the bodies of four other dual nationals.

In a press statement, the movement affirmed its full readiness to begin negotiations and reach a comprehensive agreement on the issues of the second phase, calling for the enemy to be compelled to fully implement its obligations.
