Haniyeh: There is no breakthrough in negotiations of prisoner exchange deal with occupation
Isma’il Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ political bureau confirmed that there is a movement for the possibility of indirect negotiations with the Israeli occupation to reach a prisoner exchange deal.
Haniyeh stressed that so far there has not been the required breakthrough in the negotiations, because we consider that the occupation lacks seriousness.
He revealed that al-Qassam Brigades have had Zionist soldiers since the 2014 war, and now we are at the beginning of negotiations, and there was no progress. If the occupation responds to the Palestinian demands to reach this deal, otherwise what we have will stay with us, and we will increase the yield.
Haniyeh stressed that the occupation should know that the deal has a price, it must be put on the table, and the deal will only be done if it is honorable and satisfies our people.
He pointed out that the brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt are the ones who act as mediators, and there are some contacts from some countries, but the main efforts are made through Egypt.
the head of Hamas’ political bureau further stressed that the release of all prisoners of the Wafa al-Ahrar deal is a prerequisite for the completion of this deal, and if we make a new deal we will take all the guarantees so that the occupation does not repeat the arrest of those released.
