Tunisian Parliament gives confidence to Chechen government
Tunisian parliament gave confidence in the early hours of Wednesday to the government of independent competencies (technocrats) formed by Hicham El Mechichi.
According to a statement by Tunisian state television, El Mechichi government obtained the confidence of Parliament after 134 members voted in approval (yes).
While 67 deputies voted to reject (no) the government of independent competencies formed by Prime Minister-designate Hicham El Mechichi..
The number of votes to give confidence to the technocrat government did not go out of what was expected, as all indications were confirming that El Mechichi government would gain the confidence of Parliament, especially after most of the blocs (140 deputies) agreed with their approval of the proposed formation, the Ennahda Movement Bloc (54 deputies), Heart of Tunis (27 deputies), Long live Tunisia (10 deputies), the National Reform (16), and the National Bloc (11 representatives), along with a number of independents.
The Tunisian people hope to end months of political instability, so that the country can focus on tackling worsening economic and social problems.
