Protesters in London against the general isolation measures

The London police dispersed a march in which mostly a thousand demonstrators gathered in London to protest against the general isolation measures approved by the authorities to combat the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

The demonstrators gathered in Trafalgar Square in central London, carrying banners with phrases “freedom, no fear” and “hoax”, chanting slogans at the police saying, “Choose who you stand by.”

Just before 2 pm GMT, the police ordered the protesters to leave, saying the gathering was putting the public at risk. The police spokesman did not give details whether the security forces make any arrests or it did not.

Under laws imposed in Britain to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, gathering in groups of more than six individuals is not permitted. There are exceptions related to political protests, but they depend on the organizers following the guidelines that would reduce the risk of spreading the disease.
