Entesaf Organization condemns coalition’s targeting of civilian homes in Hodeidah
Entesaf Organization for Woman and Child Rights condemned continued war crimes committed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition against civilians, through the bombing of their homes by heavy artillery shelling in al-Hawak district, Hodeidah province, killing a child and a woman and seriously wounding 3 women.
“This attack is a clear violation of the Stockholm agreement which provides for a cessation of military operations and a gross violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the targeting of innocent civilians in any way,” the organization said in a statement.
On the other hand, the statement denounced international shameful silence over the violation of international and humanitarian laws and conventions, the laws of war and other heavenly customs and laws, and the flouting of them.”
The statement confirmed that Saudi Arabia and its coalition are responsible for all crimes against civilians” in Yemen. It calls for “the investigation and criminal accountability of coalition leaders and all those found to be involved in these crimes.”
The organization called on the United Nations and the Security Council to “investigate and hold accountable coalition leaders and all those found to be involved in war crimes committed against civilians in Hodeidah province.
It also held The United Nations and the Security Council responsible for their shameful silence and their disservice, which has encouraged the countries of the Coalition of Aggression to continue to commit more war crimes against civilians in Yemen.”
Last week, human rights and legal organizations announced statistics on coalition crimes and the bombing of civilian facilities and neighborhoods, killing and wounding 43,000 civilians during the 2,000 days of its war in Yemen.
