Minister of Fisheries, Muhammad Al-Zubairi, said: “The fish sector is one of the promising sectors for achieving multi-source economic growth and increasing the per capita share.”

He pointed out that fish farming would reach 90% profitable returns within 3 years, and that investment opportunities include all components of fish activity, including fishing, transportation, distribution, and industries related to the fish sector.

The Ministry of Fisheries stated that Yemen has a stockpile of fish that allows catching about 400 thousand tons annually, and ranks fourth in the Arab world after Morocco, Mauritania, and Egypt.
