Deputy FM meets the head of the ICRC delegation
Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi discussed in Sanaa with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)’s head of delegation to Yemen, Katharina Ritz, areas of joint cooperation between Yemen and the committee and ways to develop them.
In the meeting, Al-Ezzi offered his condolences over the death of three ICRC employees during the criminal attack that targeted Aden Airport, and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
The deputy foreign minister touched on the last crime committed by Saudi-led aggression coalition states and their mercenaries by targeting of a wedding hall by in Al-Hawk district of Hodeida province, which left several dead and wounded, including women and children.
Al-Ezzi stressed the need to pressure the aggression countries and mercenaries to respect their obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
He expressed his appreciation for the existing partnership with the ICRC delegation in Yemen and looked forward to strengthen it during the current year.
For her part, the ICRC Head of delegation to Yemen praised the facilities provided to the delegation by the National Salvation Government.
She confirmed the ICRC’s keenness to continue providing all possible support to Yemen, in a way that would contribute to alleviating the humanitarian crisis facing the Yemeni people.
