Ayatollah Qassem Calls for Forming Arab-Islamic Alliance to Restore Palestinian Right
The prominent Bahraini cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Ahmed Qassem, called for the formation of an Arab and Islamic alliance, the “Ummah Alliance”, to restore all rights of the nation, foremost among which is the Palestinian right.
In a public speech on the eve of the tenth anniversary of the February 14 revolution in Bahrain, he said: “It is profitable for you, and for security of the region, our Arab and Islamic world, for others, for the countries of the region to form an alliance of the entire Ummah, to be the strongest today and tomorrow, and to lead a civilized movement along the line of their Islam.”
Qasim explained that this move is for the Ummah victory and the gain of all nations, its security of all nations, for its guidance and the guidance of all nations, and for it to be able to truly recover every right of the nation, and at the forefront of all that is the Palestinian right and the right of Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Ayatollah Qasim’s remarks came on the anniversary of the launch of the Bahraini people’s movement calling for reform and democracy, while thousands of opponents are still in prison as a result of their opposition opinions and positions.
Dozens of demonstrations took place in Bahrain on the tenth anniversary of the revolution, raising the slogan “stability until victory” and slogans denouncing normalization.
