Transport Authority: Lack of fuel leads to the suspension of 150,000 means of transport

Quoted from Yemen Press Agency that the General Authority for Organizing Land Transport Affairs in the capital Sanaa on Wednesday warned of a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the suspension of service sectors, especially the transport sector, due to the lack of fuel.

“More than 150,000 means of transporting goods and passengers in the capital and the provinces are threatened to stop as a result of the lack of fuel,” said Director of the Authority’s branch, Mohammad Al-Shahari, during a protest vigil held in front of the United Nations office in Sanaa.

Al-Shahari condemned Saudi-led coalition’s sea piracy on ships of oil derivatives and not allowing them to enter the port of Hodeida.

A statement, issued at the vigil, denounced the silence of the United Nations, its flawed position and failure to fulfill its humanitarian duty towards these practices, which are inconsistent with human values and international agreements and treaties.

The statement called on the free people of the world to stand by the Yemeni people and exert pressure on the United Nations to do its duty to end the aggression and siege on Yemen.
