Pakistan stresses need to deploy international peacekeeping forces to protect Palestinians
Pakistan’s Information Minister Fouad Hossein Chaudhry stressed the need to deploy international peacekeeping forces in the occupied Palestinian territories to protect civilians from Israeli aggression and ensure peace in the region.
“The occupied Palestinian territories need to deploy international peacekeeping forces such as those deployed by the United Nations, in a number of conflict zones in Africa, Asia and Europe,” the information minister said in a press release Thursday.
The killing of more than 250 civilians in the Palestinian territories, the injury of hundreds and the displacement of thousands due to recent raids by Israeli forces was a serious event that required the UN Security Council to act immediately and seriously to ensure lasting peace in the region.
He also urged the UN Security Council to fulfil its primary responsibility in this area.
