Sana’a inaugurates the free camp for ophthalmology

Assistant Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality, Ahsan Al-Qadi, inaugurated at Ibn Khaldoun Medical Center the 73rd campaign and the 218th free medical-surgical camp to remove cataracts and implant lenses for the poor cases.

Al-Qadi and the Deputy Director of the Health Office in the Secretariat, Dr. Ali Al-Shuaibi, were briefed on the medical services in the camp, which are organized over a period of five days by the Communication Foundation for Human Development in partnership with the Al-Nibras Health Association in coordination with the Health Office in the Capital Municipality.

Al-Qadi praised the efforts of the Communication Foundation and the Al-Nibras Association to establish free camps, especially in light of the difficult conditions the country is going through.

For his part, the Deputy Director of the Health Office in the Secretariat praised the efforts of the Al-Nibras Association and the Communication Foundation, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Health to coordinate with community organizations to implement free medical surgical camps for poor cases in various medical specialties.

In turn, the Director of the Office of the Communication Foundation in the Capital Municipality, Kamal Al-Sanhani, indicated that the camp aims to conduct inspections and tests for more than three thousand and 500 cases of poor and indigent eye patients, in addition to performing about 350 free surgeries to remove cataracts, implant lenses and dispense free medicines.

While the director of Al-Nibras Association, Dr. Abdul-Haq Al-Ashwal, confirmed that the camp provides its services free of charge, starting with examination and operations for cases that need to remove cataracts, planting lenses, dispensing medicines, and following up on the patient for two months after the operation.
