Zionist enemy demolishes, seizes 57 Palestinian buildings within 2 weeks
Zionist enemy authorities demolished or seized 57 structures in Area C of the occupied West Bank and al-Quds, within two weeks, the United Nations said on Monday.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, “OCHA,” said in a report: “57 Palestinian-owned structures were demolished or confiscated in Area C and East Al-Quds, under the pretext of lacking building permits issued by the Israeli authorities.”
The report, which covers the period between July 27 and August 9, added that the demolitions led to “the displacement of 97 people and the damage of about 240 others.”
The report pointed out that “of these buildings, 17 were confiscated, which led to the displacement of 27 people, including 19 children, in the Ibziq Bedouin settlement in the Jordan Valley” in the northern West Bank.
The report added, “28 other people, including 21 children, were displaced, after the Israeli authorities demolished six buildings in the Al-Ma’rajat Center in Ramallah” in the central West Bank.
The report continued, “In East Al-Quds, 12 structures were demolished, including five buildings used by their owners to secure their livelihoods in the Dahiyat al-Barid neighborhood.” The report did not mention the rest of the demolition sites.
