The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Condemns The Termination Of The UN Experts Work on Yemen

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the failure to extend the mandate of the United Nations Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts on Yemen a disgrace to the Human Rights Council, a disregard for international humanitarian law and human rights law, and an undermining of efforts to establish peace in Yemen.

In a statement, the ministry pointed out that the coffers of the aggression countries had removed Saudi Arabia from the list of shameful violators of children’s rights, and it ended the work of the United Nations team of eminent international and regional experts on Yemen.

The statement expressed the National Salvation Government’s appreciation for the attitudes of the countries that voted in favor of the draft resolution to extend the mandate of the group of experts, and its disappointment with the countries that did not support it, especially as it realizes that the group of experts is the only international mechanism that investigates human rights violations in Yemen, in addition to that the aggression does not It is still ongoing and crimes are being committed daily. In its previous four reports, the Panel of Experts covered only a small fraction of the violations on Yemen.

He pointed out that Saudi Arabia has sought, since the beginning of the aggression, to prevent the formation of any independent international investigation mechanism to investigate the crimes it committed in Yemen, and used all means of carrot and stick to achieve this, discrediting and accusing them of bias and lack of independence.
