Yemeni army shoots down a Chinese-made combat drone run by the Emirati Forces in Shabwa

The Yemeni Air Defenses of the Army and Popular Committees have shot down a Chinese-made combat drone run by the Emirati Forces, while it was carrying out hostile actions over Shabwa Governorate.

“Our Air Defenses shot down an armed Chinese-made spy drone, Wing Loong-2, operated by the UAE Air Force, while it was carrying out hostile actions over Ain District in Shabwa Governorate,” Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said in a brief statement on Tuesday.

The drone was targeted with a locally made surface-to-air missile, according to the statement.

On January 5th, the Yemeni air defenses shot down a Chinese-made  Wing Loong 2 over the airspace of Usaylan district in the same province.
