The Mine Center Confirmd that 2,364 Cluster Bombs And Remnants Removed  Last February

The Executive Center for Mine Action confirmed that the finds of mines, cluster bombs and remnants of war collected in February 2022 in all polluted governorates amounted to a total of (2,364) of these remnants, detailed as follows:

– (13) anti-personnel mines

– (234) anti-tank mines

– (63) Deception.

– (101) cluster bombs

– (3) flying bombs.

(1,950) assorted shells and remnants. 

It added that the non-technical survey teams in the Executive Center for Mine Action were able to survey areas contaminated with mines, cluster bombs and remnants of war in 6 districts of Hodeidah governorate (Al-Mansuriya – Al-Hujaila – Bajil – Bait Al-Faqih – Al-Salif – Al-Marawah) with an estimated area of ​​(30,800,000) square meters. While the technical survey of the indicated area amounted to (55,980) square meters, and during the same period, the cleared area amounted to (212,446) square meters.

With regard to the awareness-raising activity on the dangers of mines and cluster bombs, the center indicated that the total number of beneficiaries reached (127,303) people, including (14,127) males, (9,990) females, (55,272) male children, and (47,914) female children.

It pointed out that the center is continuing its humanitarian efforts to cleanse the country of these wastes in light of the scarce capabilities and stop the support to mark the contaminated areas.
