Mine center: 2 million square meters of Baraa Protected Area contaminated with cluster bombs
The Executive Center for Mine Action revealed the size of the contaminated area that was surveyed in the “Baraa” Protected Area in Hodeidah governorate, which is estimated at (2 million square meters)..
In a report, the Center indicated that the Center’s survey teams conducted a survey in the Baraa during the period from 11/3 to 17/3/2022 A.D. in a number of areas in the reserve (Hebaj – Bahra – Khan farms – Al-Sunnah village farms – Deir Sharif).
The center explained that the Bara’ reserve in Hodeidah is one of the nature reserves, which was contaminated by cluster raids by the coalition of aggression, which led to the pollution of rare plants and various animals in it, causing severe damage.
The Executive Center undertakes the survey work on its own, despite the suspension of funding for the survey from the Development Program.
