Israeli Warplanes Strike Gaza as Rocket Sirens Sounds in Sderot
Israeli warplanes struck targets in Gaza strip early on Thursday after rocket sirens sounded in the Sderot area of the Zionist entity’s south.
Zionist warplanes hit targets in Gaza’s central province, with Palestinian media reporting that a site in the area was hit by 10 Israeli missiles.
The heavy bombardment caused no casualties but led to damage in the houses, according to Palestinian media, which added that air defenses belonging to Palestinian Resistance confronted the aggression.
Israeli media reported on Wednesday night that the red alert warning was given to Sderot and the surrounding settlements in the Gaza envelope.
It was the second rocket fired from Gaza at the occupied territories since Monday. The occupation military only confirmed that a rocket was launched from the coastal enclave, without explaining why the Iron Dome air defense system was not activated to intercept it.
Footage from the scene showed damage to a car and a wall, as well as what appeared to be part of the rocket.
“Police sappers are handling the item in order to safely remove it from the scene,” the Israeli occupation police said in a brief statement.
The rocket apparently landed outside of Sderot, but a large section of it ricocheted and impacted near the home. According to Hebrew-language media reports, hundreds of ball bearings that were loaded into the rocket were found at the scene.
Four Israelis were being treated for anxiety, but there were no physical injuries, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.
It was the second launch from Gaza since Tuesday, as tensions have been high in Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds over Israeli provocations and repressive measures against the Palestinians in the holy compound.
