The Humanitarian Affairs Council reveals that the number of displaced rises to 6.4 million as a result of the continuation of the aggression

The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation revealed that the number of displaced people has risen to 6.4 million until March 2023, in 15 governorates as a result of the ongoing aggression against Yemen for eight years.

 

The Council stated in a report that most of the displaced have been displaced several times in light of the need of nearly 21.6 million people for humanitarian assistance and protection services.

 

The Council indicated that the statistic included the displaced from outside the gatherings and shelters, which amounted to five million and 181 thousand and 278 displaced persons, while the number of displaced ones inside the random camps reached one million and 239 thousand and 581 displaced ones.

 

The report mentioned the sources of the Information Center of the Council that among the displaced are three million and 219 thousand and 72 displaced males and three million and 201 thousand and 787 females, in addition to 999 thousand and 895 displaced children under the age of five.

 

The report indicated that the number of the elderly displaced reached 590,244, while the total number of displaced families reached 930,453 families.

 

The Humanitarian Affairs Council confirmed that many of the displaced have been living in random camps and areas prone to floods for years, under harsh conditions and lack of water, health care and sanitation services, in addition to nearly 1,300,000 displaced people who do not receive humanitarian aid.
