More than 7 billion ,350 million dollars the damages in the industrial sector during the 8 years of aggression

Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reviewed, in a press conference, the effects and repercussions of 8 years of aggression and blockade on the industrial and commercial sector.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed that more than 96 large industrial facilities belonging to the public and private sectors were completely destroyed, adding that more than 7 billion and 350 million dollars were the cost of direct and indirect material damage in the industrial sector.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said: More than 460 small and medium establishments were damaged, of which 73% are small projects and 27% are medium projects, and the activity of more than 44,000 production plants and a large number of establishments stopped as a result of the high prices of production inputs.
It explained that the private sector incurred huge losses estimated at more than 75 billion dollars as preliminary estimates, stressing that the aggression targeted more than 12 thousand commercial establishments in the governorates, with losses estimated at more than 12 billion dollars.
It also confirmed that the aggression targeted more than 700 popular and central markets in the governorates, with losses estimated at more than one billion and 400 million dollars.
The ministry added that the initial losses incurred by foreign trade during the years of aggression amounted to more than 71 billion and 840 million dollars, stressing that more than 90,000 workers in the industrial sector lost their job opportunities and laid off thousands of workers on a large scale.
The ministry also confirmed that the basic needs of goods and production inputs were absent due to the restrictions of the blockade, which negatively affected food security and the economic situation.
