The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, confirmed that the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition refused entry to pediatric heart surgeons to Sana’a and imposed slow death on 3,000 children with heart defects.
Al-Mutawakel explained in a statement to Al-Masirah channel today that the aggression prevented the arrival of an Italian medical mission that included specialties that are not available in Yemen despite the mission providing every reassurance that its mission is purely medical, indicating that the arrival of medical delegations is the best way to save thousands of patients because less than 10 % of patients are able to travel in light of the blockade and its consequences.
The minister said that the death of a sick woman on the stairs of the plane at Sana’a Airport is nothing but the tip of the iceberg as patients die in the hundreds as a result of the blockade.
He pointed out that the aggression coalition’s insistence on 3 flights per week and a single destination is a mockery that is taking place in front of the world and in front of the needs of a besieged people whose number is in the millions.
He pointed out that Sana’a airport is still under siege, “we cannot bring in radiological devices, import medicines directly, or bring in medical personnel.”
