The media sector in Hodeidah governorate condemned the arbitrary measures of YouTube and Facebook administrations in closing and deleting channels and accounts affiliated with the national media.
A statement issued by Hodeidah Radio, the Media Center of Ansarollah, the offices of Saba Agency, the Media and the Revolution, and the Media Front in the governorate indicated that this targeting is an extension of the series of crimes committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people for more than eight years with various types of weapons and violations, affecting even freedom of opinion and expression.
The statement considered the closure of national channels an attempt to obscure the facts about the crimes the Yemeni people are being subjected to, and to clamp down on media platforms and voices against the countries of aggression.
It pointed out that these arbitrary measures are a flagrant violation of all international covenants, laws and agreements related to freedom of expression, and a systematic campaign behind which the forces of labor and treachery stand behind which trade in national sovereignty to serve the ambitions and goals of the countries of aggression.
The media sector in Hodeidah affirmed the continuation of efforts to confront the enemy’s misleading campaigns and the adoption of unified positions against the hostile policies of YouTube and Facebook.
