Cautious calm currently prevails in Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp
Cautious calm currently prevails in Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp after the cessation of clashes between Fatah movement and Islamists, as a result of a ceasefire agreement, Lebanese media reported on Friday.
According to the sources, the ceasefire agreement came after tireless efforts by the director of the Lebanese army’s intelligence in the south, Brigadier General Suhail Harb, who held a meeting with the leadership of the Fatah movement, represented by its secretary in Lebanon, Fathi Abu al-Ardat, and Hamas, represented by its official in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, at the Mohammed Zgheib military barracks in Sidon.
Armed clashes have renewed inside the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in the Lebanese city of Sidon since Thursday, where the clashes resulted in 3 injuries and the displacement of dozens of families from the camp.
