Head of the Middle East Department at Doctors Around the World, Louise Pichet, confirmed that the humanitarian and health situation in the Gaza Strip is extremely complex, describing it as catastrophic and horrific.
In statements following his return from a mission in the Gaza Strip, he said that those collaborating with the non-governmental organization in Gaza (numbering about twenty people) “are psychologically traumatized after more than five months of war,” adding that they “need to look at what they went through.”
During the past few months, they have all been carrying painful events in their heads, and they do not even have time to comprehend what happened.’
Louay Harb, a nurse with Doctors Without Borders in Gaza, said that the situation in Gaza is “catastrophic and words cannot describe it.”
This came in a post on the organization’s account on “X” platform on Sunday, which included the opinions of nurse Harb, who works in northern Gaza.
Harb added that he is providing medical support in light of the severe food shortage and the difficult conditions that the Strip is experiencing.
The organization indicated in the same publication that it is rarely able to contact its employees in the region.
