The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced on Friday that only 165 bodies had been identified out of 392 bodies recovered from Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The office quoted the Palestinian Civil Defense as saying, “The remaining 227 bodies were not identified for reasons including changing body marks, mutilation, or significant decomposition, which was exacerbated by placing some of the bodies in plastic bags at a depth of three meters.”
In its report, the office called on the Palestinian Civil Defense to “conduct an independent investigation, including a forensic examination of about 20 bodies believed to have been buried alive.”
The office indicated that “three mass graves were discovered in Nasser Medical Complex, one in front of the morgue, the second behind it, and the third near the dialysis building.”
It is worth noting that the ongoing Israeli enemy aggression against Gaza led to the death of 34,356 martyrs and the injury of 77,368 people, in addition to the displacement of about 1.7 million people from the Gaza Strip, according to United Nations data.
